O Fortuna (Misheard Lyrics)

Many people know the song O Fortuna, and this youtube video makes fun of the fact that the lyrics are often misunderstood. In fact, some people can't listen to the song the same way again after watching the video

Indianapolis 500 results (and that damn tornado that interrupted it for me)

I was in the middle of watching the last 15 laps of the Indy 500 when they decided to cut to an emergency weather announcement about some tornado warnings on the other side of the state. They never even announced the winner or anything. The 500 is kind of a huge deal for me, so I am rather angered about this.
Oh, and apparently Dan Wheldon won. Good for him
rage,face,4chan,ffuuuuu-,fuck
mfw the 500 got interrupted

The Indianapolis 500 (And crashes from previous races)

As a native Hoosier, I take great enjoyment in watching the Indianapolis 500 each year. I fact, I was lucky enough to be able to go to the 90th and 92nd running of the 500. Its fun to watch, and the crashes are entertaining compared to most other forms of racing, save for World Rally Championship crashes.

I'll make another post when the race is done to announce the winner. In the meantime, enjoy some crashes from previous races.

Riders On The Storm

We've had some really terrible weather for the most part here in the Midwest since April. Usually when we have storms I play Riders On The Storm by The Doors. It gives everything an eerie/surreal feel to it. Considering I like exploring the paranormal and appreciate surreal stuff, this works out well. Also, whenever it was storming and I was at the radio station I made sure to play this during my airshift.

One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer

I'm not too much of a beer person (the hipsters ruined Pabst Blue Ribbon for me ¬_¬ ) but instead enjoy my whiskey/whisky. Johnnie Walker is pretty good, but I certainly prefer my Jack Daniels. Anyone who says Jack is a Bourbon whiskey is wrong. Bourbon is made in Bourbon County, in Kentucky. Jack Daniels is made in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Also there is a different distillation and curing process. The more you know.

Now on to the song! George Thorogood makes some amazing blues rock

I found this a while back and thought I would share this, as it is both entertaining and useful at times :P

ZZ Top- Legs

A picture of Blake Lively and her long legs

Some people like breasts, some people like butts, I like legs. Long legs are amazing. One of my female friends thinks I am a liar about this and is over protective of her breasts, yet loves running around in dresses, skirts, and shorts. Oh lawd, she is leggy, and I find it amazing. I'm also not in a rush to correct her, as then she might stop wearing stuff to show off her legs. Anyways, here is the song. Enjoy!

Black Sabbath- War Pigs (8-Bit Version)

I know War Pigs is very much an anti-war song, but every time I hear this 8-bit version it reminds me of River Raid, which is one of my all time favorite games for the Atari VCS (thats what the 2600 was originally called).
Anyways, here is the song to check out. Enjoy!

Terminator Vs. Batman

In my last post, found here, I showed what might happen if the Terminator had been created in the Marvel universe, by Stark Industries. In this post we'll take a look at if it were created in the DC universe. Lets see what happens when that smarmy bastard Bruce Wayne accidentally unleashes the terminator upon Gotham City in this fan made trailer. An interesting part of this trailer is that the Joker is presented as a Greek Chorus of sorts, rather than a villain in the trailer.

Also, here is a fun fact. Christian Bale has appeared in a Terminator movie (as John Connor) and Arnold Schwarzenegger has appeared in a Batman movie (as Mr. Freeze)

Terminator Vs. Iron Man

I am a pretty big fan of the Terminator movies, and have talked about them on this blog before, when I posted Cyanotic's remix of the Terminator theme. That post can be found here.
Anyways, what if Tony Stark had originally created the Terminators when working on the Iron Man suit? This fan made trailer shows what might happen if it were Stark Industries instead of Cyberdyne that caused all of this to happen. On an interesting note the trailer casts Stark and Iron Man as the bad guy.

Well, not what everyone was expecting

Lets all thank Macho Man Randy Savage for helping prevent the rapture. He's probably up in heaven now, kicking Jesus's teeth in. That would be a sight to see

Here is his intro music for you wrestling fans. Enjoy

Its The End Of The World As We Know (And I Feel Fine)

Supposedly tomorrow is the rapture or something, if such a thing actually exists. Personally, I don't care as I'm probably going to be stuck here if it does happen.
Lets see, what crazy stuff has happened in the past couple months or so that has changed the world as we know it?

Blitzkrieg Bop

Yay Ramones! I love this album on vinyl, so incredibly bass heavy, at least compared to the CD. Anyways, the Blitzkrieg Bop is one of their most recognizable songs, and makes for a fun drinking game. Any time they say "Hey, Ho, Lets Go" you have to take a shot. Its like 12 shots total in 2 minutes, and will get you really drunk really fast. One time I was playing it and one of my friends kept wanting to play it over and over (we were doing beer shots at first and switched to liquor later) and I think after the 2nd game of hard liquor she couldn't make a coherent sentence or even stand up. It was fun to watch.

More Than A Feeling

Most of my blog followers know I am a huge Boston fan, and for good reason; they are an amazing band!
More than a feeling (side A track 1) is a clear example of this. Its one of their most famous songs and has an amazing feel to it. Definite air guitar material.

Born To Run

I love this song, as it has some personal meaning to me. Its about a guy who's trying to escape a dying town and convince a female friend to go with him. I come from a town that has incredibly high unemployment and is slowly imploding on itself. I also greatly enjoy driving to this song, as it also has a good tempo for such an application.

Some Pet Peeves and Some Good Music

For those that follow this blog, they know that its a lot of music as well as me ranting. well time for another rant! I'll post some music at the end as well, so that way those that don't want to view said rant don't have to

Queen- Somebody To Love and also a rant

Time to go on a rant, but I'll make sure to include some good me some good music.
First off I've been single for a while, which sucks. Not to say I haven't been looking, or trying to better myself. Its just frustrating as all get out that I want to find someone around my age, yet all I keep attracting is women 10-15 years older than me.

Eagles- Already Gone

Already Gone is a nice piece of Southern Style rock, and is also a good breakup song. The lyrics are like a big F*ck You to the person whom you're breaking up with.

Oye Como Va

Santana is an amazing band, with some good Latin Rock courtesy of its guitarist Carlos Santana. Oye Como Va is one of my personal favorites from the album Abraxas, and is an amazing cover of Tito Puente's original. The song is definitely a product of the 1960s, as it has an amazing vibe to it that makes you just want to chill.

Funny story about this song actually. One night I was so baked that I thought I was going to float away. I turn on this song, and all of a sudden the bass line via my headphones from it felt so heavy I couldn't lift my head up. It was a trippy feeling, my head feeling like it was stuck to the floor while the rest of my body tried to float away.

Rabbit Junk - ReFrame

Rabbit Junk is a Seattle based Digital Hardcore band that was formed in 2004 by former Shizit frontman JP Anderson. I found out about the band in 2007 and instantly fell in love with it. First of Digital Hardcore is like a mix of techno and metal, and is sort of like Industrial I guess. Anyways, their style changes ever so slightly for each song, pulling influences such as techno, black metal, and new wave, but is always overall a nice techno-rock feel to it.

Its in the bag

Well, looks like Donald Trump has no chance against Obama during the upcoming election. During the past several days some key things have happened.

Obama's birth certificate got released to the public. This was a huge thing throughout his first term, that he wasn't actually a US born citizen. Then all of a sudden his birth certificate is like BAM! out of nowhere!

Then a few days later Osama bin Laden, public enemy number one, gets blown away by US Special Forces in his mansion in the middle of Pakistan. Looks like the Pakistanis will have a lot of splaining to do as he was hiding right next door to a major Pakistani Military facility.

There is no way Trump will be able to take on Obama after those two things happened.

Obama has left the building
obama door kick

Osama bin Laden is dead

Supposedly bin Laden is dead. This is a monumental achievement, even if it took 10 years to finally get him. Also it looks like Pakistan is going to be in some deep shit, considering he was residing in a large compound in a very Pakistani military heavy city, 31 miles away from the Pakistani capital. Regardless, me being the politically incorrect person I am, had one thing on my mind when I heard the news, just like with the Godzilla/Japan stuff.

The first thing I got when I found out Osama was dead

All Along The Watchtower

All Along The Watchtower was originally recorded by Bob Dylan, but was made famous by Jimi Hendrix. In fact until recently I hadn't known that Bob Dylan was the original writer of the song. Regardless its a good song that should be on any playlist for when being stoned, along with Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit and other songs that I will post in the near future. I personally prefer Jimi's version though.
